KINLOSS – On August 18, 2014 at 9:53 am, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a theft complaint from a road construction site on Bruce County Road 1 in Kinloss Township. Sometime between 7:00 pm on August 15, 2014 and 7:00 am on August 18, 2014, 130 litres of fuel and a "Yield to traffic" sign were taken. In addition, a side mirror on a large water hauling truck was damaged. There is no estimate on the value of the stolen property at this time.
UPDATE – Shawna Kaus, age 16, has been located in Meaford and returned home safe and sound.
MEAFORD – On Monday, August 18, 2014 at approximately 6:15 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a missing teenage girl from the Municipality of Meaford.
Shawna Kaus, age 16, was last seen at her home on Coleman Street in Meaford at approximately 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 17th.
(BRANT TWP, ON) – On August 18, 2014 at 8:30 pm, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a theft report from a residence in the 900 block of Bruce County Road 4, Brant Township. Sometime between 12:00 am on August 9, 2014 and 8:00 pm on August 18, 2014 a tool shed on the property was forcibly entered. The list of stolen items includes a Blue/Black Mastercraft impact drill, a Yellow/Black Dewalt tool set and a Honda All-Terrain vehicle key. There is no estimate on the value of the stolen property at this time.
Beach water sampling from Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Little River Park (Blue Mountains) and Northwinds (Blue Mountains) shows bacterial levels exceeding Ministry of Health standards. As a result, these areas will be posted and remain posted until samples indicate that water is safe for bathing.
