flare-regCHATSWORTH – On Monday, November 17, 2014 at approximately 12:36 p.m. Grey County OPP received a report of a house fire on Front Street, in Walter's Falls, in the Township of Chatsworth.

A smoke detector sounded, alerting the family of 3, who evacuated the residence without injury. The 1 ½ storey, board and batten farm house was destroyed as a result of the fire, which is believed to have started as a result of a wood furnace in the basement.

The Chatsworth Fire Department and the Grey Highlands Fire Department attended.

ALL buses are CANCELLED into Hanover, Ayton, Walkerton, Mildmay, Formosa & Chepstow. All schools are OPEN.

"Georgian College in Owen Sound is closed today and all day and night courses are cancelled

All school buses to Owen Sound schools are cancelled including in City buses -- the schools are open but Catholic Schools are closed -- so is the daycare at Notre Dame and the before and after program at St. Basil's

Timothy Christian School and Saint Dominique Savio in Owen Sound is closed.

 

opp-graphic-regularMEAFORD - On Saturday, November 15, 2014, at approximately 10:36 p.m., Grey County OPP received a report of a break-in at a residence on Lakeshore Road North in the Municipality of Meaford.

Sometime between 3:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on November 15th, unknown person(s) forcibly entered the residence through a back door. A briefcase had been pried open. Police believe the culprit(s) fled the residence through the front door when the homeowners had unexpectedly returned home.

A Michael Kors ladies watch, valued at $350, was stolen.
