Beach water sampling from Wednesday, July 28, 2014 at Lion's Head beach shows levels exceeding Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care standards for acceptable bacterial levels. As a result, this area will be posted and remain posted until samples indicate that water is safe for swimming.
The Medical Officer of Health advises swimmers that high levels of bacteria in the water may pose a risk to their health.
MEAFORD – On Monday, July 28, 2014 at approximately 8:40 a.m., Grey County OPP received a theft report from the Georgian Sailing School located at the Meaford Harbour
Sometime between 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 26 and early Monday, July 28, unknown person(s) cut the padlocks from two outboard motors which had been attached to a small zodiac dingy.
The two stolen motors were described as follows:
- 2011 Yamaha 9.9HP Outboard S/N 1019606
- 2005 Yamaha 15HP Outboard S/N 1019276
SPRINGMOUNT – Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating the theft of two, side by side, All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) from Springmount RV Centre located on Shane Street in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.Sometime between 6:00 p.m. on Monday, July 28th and 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29th, unknown person(s) removed the ATVs from a trailer parked on the property.
The ATVs were described as follows:
- 2013, 800 cc Liangzi UTV, s/n L6FBGNA04D0000125
- 2013, 800 cc Liangzi UTV, s/n L6FBGNA09D0000444
ORILLIA - The OPP in Central Region have investigated two deaths related to off-road vehicle related activities this past week.
Fatalities such as these are as tragic as they are preventable. The OPP is reminding riders of their responsibility to ensure their safe operation. This includes operating the vehicle in a safe manner to afford the opportunity of reacting appropriately to sudden changes in trail conditions, and to always wear the proper protective equipment to reduce the risks of injury.
