Harvey James “Jim” Harrold, former councillor and reeve of Artemesia Township, later amalgamated into Grey Highlands, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022., former councillor and reeve of Artemesia Township later amalgamated into Grey Highlands, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022. 

Jim is remembered by staff and council as an active and dedicated member of the community.

“On behalf of my council and staff, I offer my condolences to Jim’s family and friends,” says Mayor Paul McQueen. “Jim will be missed.”

Jim had many accomplishments. He was elected to the former Artemesia Township as a councillor in 1991 and served two terms as reeve. He served on the District Health Council, the boards of Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound and Markdale Hospital and at the South East Grey Community Health Centre.

Flags will be lowered to half-mast for two weeks from August 8 until August 22 at municipal facilities and on behalf of the Municipality of Grey Highlands, and an in memoriam donation will be made to Chapman House Hospice to honour him.
