oppcarGrey Bruce OPP were busy catching stunt drivers over the weekend.

On June 28, 2020 at 7:46 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police attempted to stop a white sports car that was travelling at excessive speeds southbound on Highway 6, near Greig Settlement Road, in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula.

This car was clocked on RADAR travelling over 205 kilometres per hour (km/h) in the posted 80 km/h speed limit, and appeared to be racing with another black car.

Officers activated their cruiser emergency lights and attempted to stop these vehicle, but they failed to stop for police and continued driving in a very aggressive manner at high rates of speed. Another police officer assisted was able to stop one of the involved cars.

Grey Bruce OPP have charged the 19 year old driver from Brampton with the following offences:

Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
Flight from peace officer
Stunt driving - 50km/h or more over posted speed limit

This driver was issued a 7 day drivers licence suspension and the involved vehicle was impounded for 7 days. The accused was released on an Appearance Notice and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound, Ontario on October 1, 2020.

On June 27, 2020 at 11:30 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police stopped a black southbound car for excessive speed on Highway 10, near the Village of Flesherton. The car was travelling over 180 kilometres per hour (km/h) in the posted 80 km/h speed limit, and Grey Bruce OPP charged a 17-year-old Novice Driver (G1) from Newmarket with stunt driving.

The OPP also stopped a blue northbound car for excessive speed on Highway 6, near Limestone Ridge Road in North Bruce Peninsula. This car was travelling over 140 kilometres per hour (km/h) in the posted 80 km/h speed limit. Grey Bruce OPP charged the driver, a 24 year-old from Scarborough with stunt driving.

On June 26, 2020 at 8:01 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police stopped a black southbound car for excessive speed on Highway 6, near Pike Bay Road in North Bruce Peninsula. The car was travelling over 145 kilometres per hour (km/h) in the posted 80 km/h speed limit. Grey Bruce OPP charged an 18 year-old from with stunt driving - 50km/h or more over posted speed limit.
