The Owen Sound Attack are back in action with three games in less than three days this weekend, beginning with a trip down Highway 6 to square off with the Guelph Storm on Friday night.
Headlining the weekend for the Bayshore Boys though, is a nationally televised matinee against the Kitchener Rangers on Saturday afternoon at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre. Fans are reminded that puck drop for Saturday's game, which can be viewed live on Rogers Sportsnet, is set for 3:45pm rather than the normal 7:30pm.
Before the Attack play the Blueshirts though, they will look to get past the Midwest Division's 3rd place Guelph Storm (18-14-1-3, 40 Points) at the Sleeman Centre.
A 7:30pm start, Owen Sound and Guelph meet for the 4th time in 2017-18 with the Storm currently holding a 3-0 lead in the season series.
The Attack enter Friday night's game with a record of 14-15-1-5, good for 34 points and 4th in the OHL's Midwest Division.
Leading the way for Owen Sound, as he has all season, is Golden Knights' prospect Nick Suzuki. The London, ON native has racked up 47 points in 31 games on the year and is tied for 5th in the OHL's scoring race.
The Storm counter with top prospect for the 2018 NHL Draft, defenceman Ryan Merkley. The draft eligible rearguard has 10 goals and 34 helpers on the season for 44 points, which ties him with Attack blueliner Sean Durzi for 2nd in the OHL's defensive scoring race.
Friday night's tilt in the Royal City will be broadcast live on Rogers Local 53 and is also available live on Kia of Owen Sound/Terry's Trailer Service Bear Radio on 560 CFOS.
Following the game the Attack will return to the Bayshore for the aforementioned 3:45pm start against the Midwest Division leading Kitchener Rangers.
Kitchener, who is at home to Mississauga on Friday night, begins their weekend of action with a solid 25-11-2-0 record, giving them 52 points in 38 games.
The Attack will then conclude their weekend by travelling to Oshawa for a 2:05pm game against the Generals on Sunday, Jan. 7.
Owen Sound and Oshawa meet for the 2nd and final time this season on Sunday, a rematch of the Saturday, Oct. 14 game that saw the Attack throttle their Eastern Conference foes by a score of 12-6.
Fans can catch Sunday's action live on Rogers Local 53 or by listening to Fred Wallace's call on Kia of Owen Sound/Terry's Trailer Service Bear Radio on 560 CFOS.
