The Owen Sound Attack is announcing that General Manager Dale DeGray has completed a trade with the Erie Otters, acquiring right winger Cade Robinson in exchange for defenceman Luke Beamish.
Robinson, an 18 year old out of Jackson, Michigan, was drafted in the 11th round by the Otters in in 2016.
A member of last season's J. Ross Robertson Cup Champions, Robinson has appeared in 82 career games with Erie, scoring six times and adding 14 assists for 20 points. In 38 games this year, Robinson has scored all six of those goals while chipping in with 12 helpers.
"Cade is a big, skilled winger that can come in here and add another dimension up the right side for us," DeGray said of the 2018 Draft Eligible forward. "Cade is a player that has experience winning a championship. We're very happy to be able to acquire him and can't wait to insert him into the lineup," he added.
Beamish, who goes the other way in the swap, is a 17 year old defenceman who has skated in 32 contests for the Attack since being drafted in the 3rd round of the 2016 OHL Priority Selection.
In those 32 games, Beamish has totalled three assists, all coming this season.
"As hard as trading away a player like Luke is, this move makes us better and provides him an opportunity to join an Erie team that will rely on him moving forward. We'd like to thank him for his efforts these past two seasons and wish him nothing but the best in the future," DeGray said.
Robinson is expected to join his teammates on Sunday in Oshawa for the Attack's game against the Generals.
