dog-attack-regThe Grey Bruce Health Unit is seeking assistance from the public in finding the owner of a dog involved in a biting incident that occurred at the Sauble Falls Parkway Bridge in South Bruce Peninsula.

On the morning of Saturday, August 23, 2014, a man running north across the Sauble Falls Parkway Bridge encountered a couple walking two dogs. As he ran past them, one of the dogs bit him. The victim did not go back and talk to the couple, but noticed that one of the people walking the dog began to reprimand it. The dog that bit the runner is described as gray, medium-sized and similar to a husky. A reliable description of the second dog could not be provided.

police-os-regularOn August 26, 2014 at 5:00 pm, the Owen Sound Police Service, Fire Services and EMS attended a west side residence in regard to a non responsive male at a backyard pool. Other persons at the residence had pulled the man from the pool in an effort to save him. Life saving efforts were continued by EMS and the man was transported to the Grey Bruce Health Services.

After final approval of The Sydenham condominium site plan by City council last night, developer Ron Pirie wasted no time in getting shovels in the ground, ceremonially at least. Demolition will begin this September, and full completion of the 32-unit luxury condominiums is expected by late in 2015.

Mayor Deb Haswell called the development "a game-changer" for the city and its downtown. She thanked the new condominium unit owners for investing in their community.
