On August 26, 2014 at 5:00 pm, the Owen Sound Police Service, Fire Services and EMS attended a west side residence in regard to a non responsive male at a backyard pool. Other persons at the residence had pulled the man from the pool in an effort to save him. Life saving efforts were continued by EMS and the man was transported to the Grey Bruce Health Services.

After final approval of The Sydenham condominium site plan by City council last night, developer Ron Pirie wasted no time in getting shovels in the ground, ceremonially at least. Demolition will begin this September, and full completion of the 32-unit luxury condominiums is expected by late in 2015.
Mayor Deb Haswell called the development "a game-changer" for the city and its downtown. She thanked the new condominium unit owners for investing in their community.
Following months of broad consultation and development, Georgian College has unveiled a new brand position and logo.
Focusing on the theme of "accelerate success", the new brand identity combines a stylized image of a leaf and Georgian's familiar green and blue colours with a new forward-looking "accelerator" symbol. In science and entrepreneurship an accelerator dramatically enhances growth and development.
TIVERTON – Bruce Power's annual Charity Golf Tournament raised over $125,400 for local hospital foundations.
The Kincardine Hospital Foundation and the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation will share the proceeds at the annual golf tournament, which was held at Saugeen Golf Club, on Aug. 15. The tournament has now raised more than $1.1 million for the local hospital foundations over 13 years.
