GREY COUNTY – Driver distraction was a factor in two of the four fatal motor vehicle collisions the OPP investigated over the Labour Day Long Weekend, pushing the number of 2014 distraction-related roads deaths up to 39 (in OPP jurisdiction)
The OPP would like to thank the many Ontario residents and visitors who did their part to ensure that they and their families made it through a safe long weekend on roads, waterways and trails.
KINKARDINE – The South Bruce OPP has reminded parents to follow their children online after a resident reported a nude photo sent to an 11-year old over KIK messenger.
Police received the call September 8, 2014 at 5:33 pm,
In a news release, the OPP urged parents to "supervise their youth in the virtual world just as they would in the real world."
The OPP also offered the following tips:
• Set rules about household internet use
• Always keep computers in high traffic areas
• Know your child's user name/passwords and contacts
• Realize that anything posted online is permanent
• Protect your passwords and make them hard to guess
• Be careful with webcams – your image can be captured
• Don't say anything online you wouldn't say in real life

TIVERTON, ON –Bruce Power has been awarded a gold level certification from the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB) for excellence in aboriginal relations, the nuclear operator said in a news release.
This is the highest level of recognition offered by the CCAB and Bruce Power is one of only 12 companies in Canada to receive the designation, Bruce Power said.
MEAFORD – On September 9, 2014, the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of West Region Emergency Response Team, West Region Canine, and Grey County OPP, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a property on Sykes Street in Meaford.
