TIVERTON – Bruce Power's annual Charity Golf Tournament raised over $125,400 for local hospital foundations.
The Kincardine Hospital Foundation and the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation will share the proceeds at the annual golf tournament, which was held at Saugeen Golf Club, on Aug. 15. The tournament has now raised more than $1.1 million for the local hospital foundations over 13 years.
CHATSWORTH – On Saturday, August 23, 2014, at approximately 6:33 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a domestic assault in the Township of Chatsworth.
A 17 year old female was taken to hospital with injuries to her neck after she was assaulted by her boyfriend.
TEESWATER– On August 23, 2014 at 9:56 pm, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a theft from a vehicle while it was parked at the Teeswater Community Centre. Sometime between 5:00 pm on August 23, 2014 and 9:45 pm on August 23, 2014 a Red Honda Dual 3000 power inverter was stolen from a pick-up truck bed. The value of the stolen property is estimated to be more than $2,800.

GREY HIGHLANDS – On Saturday, August 23, 2014 at approximately 4:14 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a residence on Hwy. 10, south of Flesherton, in the Municipality of Grey Highlands in response to an injured male after the ATV he was operating rolled, resulting in him being thrown from the vehicle. Alcohol was a factor.
The Board of Health for the Grey Bruce Health Unit is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Christine Kennedy as Acting Associate Medical Officer of Health.
She will begin working with the Grey Bruce Health Unit on a part-time basis in September while continuing as Regional Community Medicine Specialist - First Nations and Inuit Health Branch (FNIHB), Ontario Region.
Dr. Kennedy has extensive experience in the practice of public health medicine including as a researcher and teacher, post-graduate clinical trainee, Senior Public Health Economist and consultant, Medical Officer of Health, as a Public Health Specialist for FNIHB - Alberta Region, and presently as the Regional Community Medicine Specialist for FNIHB - Ontario Region.
