Training camp opened this week for the Owen Sound Attack, with the first set of cuts starting Tuesday afternoon following a two-day rookie camp, and at least a couple more coming Thursday night on the second day of the main camp.

Returning veterans such as Chris Bigras, Zach Nastasiuk, Holden Cook, Kyle Platzer and Thomas Schemitsch took to the ice Wednesday for their first practice of the season, along with a handful of promising rookies, including six-foot-eight giant Jarett Meyer and Finnish flash Petrus Palmu. The Attack's second round pick this year, Jonah Gadjovich, is also turning heads in camp.

Though the numbers of fish being caught are down from last year, anglers are still bringing in some big ones, and there's lots to do at the Derby tent. Organizer Chris Geberdt walks us through it.
