attack-regThe Owen Sound Attack is announcing that overage goaltender Brandon Hope has been traded to the Niagara Ice Dogs in exchange for a 4th Round Draft Choice (2017) and a 7th Round Draft Choice (2015) in the Ontario Hockey League State Farm Priority Selection.

Acquired from the Sarnia Sting prior to the 2012/2013 season, Hope played in 80 games over parts of three seasons, gathering a 42-25-3-3 record to go along with a 2.78 GAA and a .916 save percentage.

"We're confident moving forward with Jack and Michael as our goaltenders and as an overage goaltender in this league, Brandon deserves to play on a regular basis.", said General Manager Dale DeGray. "While a member of the Attack, Brandon did everything asked of him and was a model citizen. We wish him nothing but the best as he continues his hockey career in Niagara."

palmu-fegThe Owen Sound Attack has named Import forward Petrus Palmu the Becker Shoes Player of the Week for the Week ending Sunday, November 2nd. Because the Attack had only one game this past week, the previous weeks three games are also included.

In four games, Palmu collected a goal and three assists against wins over Barrie, Kitchener and Guelph last weekend. The Attack defeated the Colts 6-1 with their next three games being decided via shootouts. Petrus scored goals in all three shootouts, with the Attack picking up wins in the first two contests over Kitchener and Guelph before dropping the third game to Kitchener at home last Saturday.

rangers-regThe Owen Sound Attack will be looking for their 5th straight victory when they host the Kitchener Rangers at 7:30pm on Saturday, Nov. 1.McNain Communications, your local authorized Rogers dealer will be on hand Saturday as well and one lucky person will go home with a brand new cellular device.

The Attack are currently sitting at 8-3-1-2, good for 19 points through 14 games this year. Owen Sound is 2-0-0-1 against Kitchener this year, who is 7-3-0-3 through 13 games. Just two points separate the Attack and Rangers, who are 3rd and 4th in the Eastern Conference respectively.

Leading the charge in the current streak for the Attack is Kyle Platzer, who has points in each of the team's last four wins, including one goal and five assists. Platzer isn't the only one producing though, with eight players already having reached double digits in points this season, including rookie Petrus Palmu who has seven goals and four assists.

attack-pink-regThe Canadian Cancer Society and the Owen Sound Attack are thrilled to announce that Pink in the Rink 2014 raised $28,000.00 for breast cancer research, with a 4 year total of just over $115,000.

Pink in the Rink was held Sunday October 19th against the Windsor Spitfires, which saw the Attack come back in the third period and capture a 5-4 OT win. As they do every year, Attack fans turned the rink into a Pink haven and made it an afternoon to remember.

"Every year we are shocked by the results of this event.", stated Brent Fisher. "This community is so giving that we shouldn't be surprised, but the support that this event receives year after year is remarkable."

Busch-regOwen Sound Attack General Manager Dale DeGray is pleased to announce that the Hockey Club has acquired forward Jacob Busch from the Oshawa Generals in exchange for a 2nd Round Draft Pick in 2016, a 4th Round Draft Pick in 2015 and a Conditional 7th Round Draft Pick in 2017. The 2017 7th Round Draft Choice is conditional on Busch playing an overage season.

Busch, a 1996 born right winger suited up in 53 games for the Generals last season, collecting 9 goals and 7 assists to go along with 73 penalty minutes. This season, the Port McNichol native has tallied 2 goals and 2 assists in 12 games.

"We identified Jacob as a player that would fit in very well with our team and system.", said Dale DeGray. "Jacob plays the game hard and we believe has a tremendous amount of upside."
