BROCKTON – The South Bruce OPP are investigating a report of an alleged sexual assault that occurred in Brockton on Friday, August 1, 2014.
Just before 8:00 a.m., a female observed a man walking a golden-retriever type dog westbound on Kincardine Highway in the Municipality of Brockton.
This male followed the victim into a building where he inappropriately touched her. The victim was not injured. The suspect was last seen walking towards Wallace Street.
Police are seeking assistance in identifying the man, described as follows:
- Caucasian male; 30 - 40 years old, 5'9" tall, slim build
- short, buzz-cut black and brown hair
- dark eyes
- scruffy facial hair
- wearing a black ball cap with a symbol
- short sleeve V-neck t-shirt
- dark-coloured jeans
Water samples taken at Northwinds Beach (Blue Mountains) show results within acceptable levels according to Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care standards. Unfortunately, those taken at Kelso Beach (Owen Sound), and Little River Beach Park (Thornbury) remained at levels above the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care standards.
CHATSWORTH – Grey County OPP wish to remind the public to be aware of various scams such as the Emergency scam, also known as the Grandparent scam, Microsoft scam, Charity scam, Inheritance scam, Lottery or Sweepstake scam, and Service scam, to name a few.
On Wednesday, July 30, 2014, an elderly Grey Highlands woman received a phone call from an unknown person claiming to be a representative from Sears. The victim was told that her account was overdue and that she had to pay it immediately. The victim sent a cheque for $125.29 to Total Credit Recovery Ltd., in North York, Ontario.
On July 30th 2014 just after 8:30pm a male drove his vehicle on a closed road being the construction zone in the 100 block of 2nd Avenue East, Owen Sound and in doing so struck a construction vehicle and equipment.
A citizen tried to stop the man as he could smell alcohol on the driver's breath however the male continued to drive his vehicle with two flat front tires. As a result the citizen called police.
Beach water sampling from Wednesday, July 28, 2014 at Lion's Head beach shows levels exceeding Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care standards for acceptable bacterial levels. As a result, this area will be posted and remain posted until samples indicate that water is safe for swimming.
The Medical Officer of Health advises swimmers that high levels of bacteria in the water may pose a risk to their health.
