chainsaw-regMEAFORD – On Tuesday, August 5, 2014, Grey County OPP received a theft report from the Holland-Sydenham Town Line in the Municipality of Meaford.

Sometime between Friday, August 1 and Monday, August 4, 2014, a Husqvarna 40 and Stihl 38 chainsaw were taken from the back of the victim's pick-up truck which had been parked, about 200 feet from the roadway, on his property.

 

AURORA – Three people died in three separate motor vehicle collisions and two other people died in a single marine incident, according to the OPP's preliminary civic long weekend fatality report.

tube-regGREY HIGHLANDS – On Monday, August 4, 2014 at approximately 4:30 p.m., Grey County OPP received a report of a girl injured while tubing on Lake Eugenia in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

The 15-year-old from Halton Hills, Ontario was riding on a water tube being towed by a motor boat operated by her father. The girl was injured when the tube flipped, ejecting her into the water. She was taken to hospital via ambulance and then air-lifted to a hospital in Toronto as a precaution. Her injuries are non-life threatening.

break-regMEAFORD – On Saturday, August 2, 2014 at approximately 5:30 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break-in in progress at a cottage on Lakeshore Rd. N., in the Municipality of Meaford. Two male suspects entered the cottage while the occupants were sleeping. The suspects fled on foot when confronted by the homeowner.

During the investigation, police discovered three other residences, as well as one vehicle in the area, had been entered. The residences and the vehicle were insecure.

police-os-regularOn Friday August 2nd, 2014 at approximately 1:35 PM, the Owen Sound Police Service responded to a report of a man threatening and swinging a hatchet in such a manner that it caused another man to lock himself in his home and call 911.

The suspect left the scene in a car. A police officer stopped the vehicle in the downtown core and the suspect fled from the passenger side and climbed to the rooftops of several downtown businesses in the 900 block of 2nd Avenue East.
