WALKERTON – On July 22, 2014 at 4:31 pm, the South Bruce OPP received a theft report from a home along Jane Street in Walkerton. Sometime between 10:00 pm on July 20, 2014 and 4:00 pm on July 22, 2014 a Grey Evinrude 9.9 horsepower outboard motor was taken from the boat while it was parked at the Jane Street home. The value of the stolen property is estimated to be $600.
Suspicious vehicles and suspicious people need to be reported to police immediately so officers can investigate.
TIVERTON – The return of summer bus tours to the Bruce Power site has been a huge success, the nuclear operator says.
Due to high demand and limited seating on the buses, Bruce Power said in a news release, it is adding two more tours per week for the month of August. Tours will be available at 1 and 2 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays next month.
Recently the Federal Government announced the launch of Connecting Canadians, a new Government of Canada program that will bring high-speed internet to 280,000 Canadian households that currently do not have internet or have slower access.
Larry Miller, MP for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound, said in a news release that he is encouraging all residents who do not have internet access or have slower access to the internet to participate in a consultation process to help to the Government identify areas in need of funding through this program.
GEORGIAN BLUFFS – On Monday, July 21, 2014 at approximately 7:15 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police investigated a motor vehicle collision on Hwy. 21 near Hwy. 6 in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.
A 2012 KIA vehicle was travelling eastbound on Hwy. 21 when the driver of a 2011 Hyundai vehicle pulled out from a private driveway onto the highway. The collision sent four people to hospital with minor injuries. Both vehicles sustained extensive damage.
The Grey Bruce Health Unit is seeking assistance from the public to find the owner of a dog involved in a biting incident that occurred in Port Elgin.
On Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at approximately 2:00 p.m. a man was bitten by a St. Bernard while walking along North Shore Road in Port Elgin. The dog was in the company of a group of people who were also walking three other dogs (two huskies and a mixed breed). The group did not stop when the incident occurred and continued walking toward Southampton on Miramichi Bay Road.
